Zooey Deschanel is a dream with a beautiful voice.  She’s charming as a department store worker who kind of falls in love with a tall elf and also as a kooky visitor to the Botwin family fleeing from bumchucks.
Besides being unbearably cute, she can sing.  I’m currently listening to She & Him, the name given to her and M. Ward on their musical endeavors together.

Whore

Not until this past year did I make the honest and belated realization that “ho” is a shortening of the word “whore”.  Why it took me so long to come to this, I don’t know.

I feel like “ho” isn’t the ideal shortening of the word.  I think that’s why its root was so ambiguous to me.  A better choice would have been “who’e” or “ho’e”.  However, I do realize that considering people who integrate this word most into their vocabularies, it might not have caught on like it did.  Also, it might get twisted into misuse, such as people mistakenly calling people “who” or “whoa”, which is absolutely not as catchy as “ho”.

ex. “That bitch?  What a who!”
or
ex. “I know you been cheatin’ on yo’ boyfriend, whoa!”

(But actually, calling someone a ho in a serious way is very rude.  Don’t do it.  Plus, it’s just another derogatory word used specifically toward women…and that’s not a good thing at all.)

I’ve been to LOTS of theater complexes all over the United States and I have to say that none compare to ours….30 theaters in one building, clean, stadium seating, great sound…I really really love our theaters…and $5 all day Mon - Thurs with free popcorn on Wed…Does it get any better?  I don’t think so.
You forgot the fact that we also have more than one IMAX theatre.  That’s a pretty big deal.  Most have zero.

Hearing Regina Spektor sing in Russian is like eating a small portion of your favorite food; it’s perfect but doesn’t last long enough.

I’ve been listening to Aprés Moi on repeat.

I got some “*something something* Winesap” apples at the Farmer’s Market in Union Square today before work.
I’m excited to eat them.
“Available October through August. The apple with old-fashioned flavor. The Winesap has a spicy, tart, almost wine-like flavor that makes it the cider maker’s first choice. Violet red in color, it’s great as a snack and in salads.”
VERDICT AFTER TASTING:  Sub-standard.  I prefer crisp apples.  These are not crisp at all.  I’m disappointed. They taste good.  But I’m afraid texture is equally important.
