WEEDS! John and I talked about how much the show has changed. It went from a funny, even charming, tale of a naïve and wide-eyed pot-dealing suburban mom to a story we don’t even recognize. I loved watching Josh’s liberal wise-cracking girlfriend Amelia “Amy” Gardner morph into Nancy Botwin, a mom who’s just trying to hang onto her house and keep her bereaved family together all while slurping and sipping her way through every scene. But, now that she’s been transformed into a hardcore drug dealer, the story has lost its charm. Where’s the whimsy?

This is just not the trip (pun intended) I signed on for.

My family feels very strongly about the turn Weeds has taken. From the light-hearted first and second seasons with Kat (Zooey Deschanel) and back when Majestic was Agrestic, to housing Heroine and Nancy becoming more and more promiscuous, I’m terribly disappointed to what’s happened to one of my favorite shows of all time. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.

My new view at the office.  Busted Tees just moved over by me.  Today has already been more fun because of it.
