Work of Berenice Abbott (1898-1991). Fish Market; South Street. 1935.
Abbott is known for photographing New York, primarily during the 1930’s.
“I took to photography like a duck to water. I never wanted to do anything else.”

Standard-Winged Nightjar, found in Northern Africa. Here is a weird gallery of photos of it walking on the ground. It seems like it would be extremely annoying to be this bird.

I meant to send this picture to Morgan as a joke. Instead I sent it to Tumblr. I had such a good laugh about it that I’ve decided to leave it.
(The photo was taken when I was probably about 12 years old.)

I thought Cait would be mad that she has to renew her driver’s license while she’s home…but she was excited. Must be the chance to redo her picture, look older, and get in more bars…it looks like caitlin’s trying to keep from laughing…which makes me think this was maybe a semi-staged photo where caitlin had to sit still while mom
took forever with the cameratried to get it just right.
john, you couldn’t have done a better job of excavating the truth out of this image.

Saw Alex Bag speak today. Actually, it was more of a “watch stuff she made” than a “talk”. She was both pleasantly strange and very charming. She answered a few questions at the end but didn’t answer when asked what tv shows she watched because she was too embarrassed to say any of them. Morgan came for it, too, so we held hands and laughed because Alex Bag is very funny.
